Privacy Policy

Last updated: 16 June 2026

Glyphora is a free writing app published by Jérôme Millière. This policy explains what data Glyphora handles, where it goes, and why. We keep it short because Glyphora collects very little.

Summary

  • Your documents stay on your device and in your own iCloud. We can't read them.
  • AI writing features run on-device with Apple Intelligence. Your text isn't sent to us for AI.
  • There is no account, no sign-up, and no advertising.
  • When you customise an AI action, that customised action is sent to us to help improve the built-in templates — see "Community AI actions" below.

Your documents and iCloud sync

The documents, folders, and text you create are stored on your device and, if you're signed in to iCloud, synced through your private iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit. That data lives in your iCloud, governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. Jérôme Millière has no access to your iCloud documents.

AI writing features (Apple Intelligence)

Glyphora's AI actions are powered by Apple Intelligence and run on your device. The text you process with these features is not transmitted to Jérôme Millière. Availability depends on your device and Apple's on-device models.

Community AI actions

What we collect: when you create or edit a custom AI action and save it, Glyphora submits that customised action to us — including the prompt text and title you wrote, plus its category, icon, colour, language, and variables.

Each submission is tagged only with an anonymous, randomly generated install identifier (a UUID created on your device) and the app version. There is no account, name, email, or other personal identifier attached, and the install ID is not linked to your identity.

We use these submissions to discover popular, well-written AI actions and hand-pick the best ones to ship as built-in templates in future versions of Glyphora. Submissions are reviewed privately by the developer; they are not shown to other users inside the app and there is no in-app community gallery.

Because the prompt text is free-form, please avoid putting personal or sensitive information into custom AI-action prompts that you save, as that text is included in the submission. If you'd like a submission removed, contact us (see below) — note that submissions are anonymous, so we'll need the action's wording to locate it.

Submissions are stored using Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore), protected by Firebase App Check. Firebase processes this data on our behalf; see Firebase's privacy information.

Diagnostics

To keep the app stable we use crash and error diagnostics (Sentry) and Firebase services. These may include technical information such as device model, OS version, app version, and crash details. They are not used to identify you and are not sold.

What we don't do

  • We don't sell or rent your data.
  • We don't show ads or use third-party advertising trackers.
  • We don't require an account or collect your name, email, or contacts.

Data retention

iCloud document data is retained in your iCloud account under your control. Community AI-action submissions and diagnostic data are retained only as long as needed for template curation and app reliability.

Children

Glyphora is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country) and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (including the EU/EEA under the GDPR) you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. Because Glyphora has no account and community submissions are anonymous, the data we can tie to you is minimal. To make a request or ask a question, email support@milliere.com.

Changes

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "last updated" date.
